Automatically fill in SMS passcodes on iPhone

Until recently, it was possible to auto-fill an SMS passcode into my apps but this no longer works only on one specific app. I’ve talked with non-technical customer support for the app and they claim it’s not their problem because it’s a feature supported/implemented by Apple. I’m suspicious, can an app opt to ignore/disable the SMS auto-fill feature? I’m running iOS 14.6 on a 128 Gb SE, version 2.

Yes they can or they can screw up an update and cause it not to work correctly. If it was all your apps I would suspect your iPhone but since it is working on others I would point to the one it is not working with. Try updating to iOS 14.7 and then look for an update of your app.
