Portrait Mode stopped working on iPhone Xs

My portrait mode worked great for a while, but since the last update, my phone won't take pictures in portrait, and trying to do so freezes the entire camera app. I have to go back out to my Home Screen, re-enter the app, and use the regular photo function. It's not a storage issue, and I have tried restarting plenty of times. It really seems to be related to the iOS 14.6 update. Any suggestions?

Hi queenofpirates, We appreciate you reaching out to us. We understand that you are experiencing issues taking photos in portrait orientation. The articles below may help.

Change or lock the screen orientation on iPhone

Rotate the screen on your iPhone or iPod touch

If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open

Also, we recommend updating your iPhone to iOS 14.7 if you haven’t.

While it isn't inherently assured that an update will resolve the issue, updating to the latest version of iOS for your device can help isolate potential software issues.

Kindly secure a backup and update.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Take care!
