I did follow the steps in the article and was still having the same problem. Each time that I tapped transfer from android on the iPhone, I received a code, which I then entered on the android. The android displayed “connecting”, then I would see a banner on the android saying that the WiFi was disconnected. After 1-2 minutes, the android displayed an error message, and the banner would reappear saying that the phone was connected to WiFi. I do believe that the problem lies within the android device because a setup another iPhone from android a few days prior without any problems. I had to set up the iPhone and transfer what data I could from Verizon cloud because the cellular service was transferred as soon as I began setup on the iPhone. I was not able to recover all of my data from Verizon cloud. I am missing contacts for sure, so I would still like to try to transfer data if possible. But I have not been able to find a way to do so without using the internet connection.
