Also, if Apple can do it , it will be 2-3X cheaper to have them replace the battery compared to many Apple Authorized Service Providers and independent providers. The poisonous, flammable solvents required to free the old battery from the upper deck of a Retina MacBook Pro are heavily regulated by fire, hazmat, and OSHA requirements and cannot be used in most retail workspaces typical of many third-party service shops.

Because of regulations, those providers usually replace the entire upper deck: new battery; keyboard; trackpad; and deck. Thus the exorbitant price.

The price, of course, is decided by the seller/service center. So, see if you can get this serviced.

A. Contacting an AASP:

So, take to to an AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) seeing if they offer service for this.

3. Enter: your location information
4. See: if there is an AASP nearby
5. Contact: an AASP that shows up, and find out more about the services that they offer to fix the iPhone

You have a one-year, out-of-the-box limed warranty. So, they may, should it be found as a faulty device, and if such a service is an option in your location. So, contact Apple Support, seeing if they will replace it. Use the above information to contact Apple Support.
