You will need to subscribe with HBO to access their content, either through your TV provider, or with HBO directly, or in-app through Apple.
If you have an Apple TV (3rd generation), then additional apps are not supported. Use AirPlay, or upgrade to a newer model Apple TV box.
No, I have an Apple TV and also both Apple TV and HBO max apps on my iPhone, I can watch HBO max from my iPhone but not directly from my TV, the TV only has the HBO channel that states it has expired and that I can go to HBO max however it does not show on my TV.
Without an AppleTV????
