Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you purchased a gift card and the money was taken out of the bank, but it is not showing in your Apple ID balance.
Did you redeem the card after purchase? If not, that is a good place to start: Redeem your Apple Gift Card.

Thank you! It took almost 2 days for the redeeming email to appear in my inbox. All is fine after redeeming.
