Try to recover a text message

If you are using iCloud messages, you cannot recover a deleted message. If you are not using iCloud Messages and you have a backup of the device made when the message was on the iPhone and have not made a backup of the iPhone since you deleted the message, you can restore the iPhone to that backup to recover the message. If you do not have a backup of the device with the message or have created a backup of the device since you deleted the message, you will not be able to restore the message.
