how to get texts from a dead iphone

Hi there, my iPhone X suffered some water damage in the shower and I need to get the texts off of the phone. Unfortunately the texts were not backed up in iCloud or on my computer.

when I turn the phone on it shows the computer logo with the lightning cable pointing to it. I have tried getting my pc to recognize the phone but is nigh impossible without being able to put in the passcode.

is there any way to get the texts off of this phone and onto another device such as my newer iPhone XR or my pc?

thank you!

iPhone X, iOS 14

Hello Bryce,

From your description, it appears that all the text threads are ONLY on the device that has suffered from liquid damage. You have lost the ability to enter the passcode on the device's screen. This means that it cannot be unlocked and none of the data can be retrieved. There are no backups.

You have one option and that is to have your iPhone examined at the Apple Store or at an Authorized Service Center for diagnosis and resolution. Once it is repaired then you can create a backup for future data retrievals etc.
