MacBook Air is not turning on

Left MacBook Air on charger overnight. Awoke to find hard drive or cooling fan revving nonstop at high speed, but the laptop won't boot up. Disconnect the charging cable and the revving stops completely, but the computer remains dead.

What would cause this and what, if anything, can I do about it?

MacBook Air Won't Start Up / Power Up I have a MacBook Air 2017 and it has been having issues starting up after it's turned off. If I leave the computer alone for some hours or a day or so, it may start. The battery is fully charged. Any one experience this? I think it's manufacturer defective. I have not done anything to this computer to malfunction and it's only 2 years old!
