Trying to backup iPhone 7 to MBP Big Sur. It only recognizes my phone as new. No option for backing it up.

If this is the first time you have plugged the phone in to the computer it will ask you how you want to set it up first. Select the “Setup as New”.option.


Once iTunes opens up completely, click on the device icon at the top of the iTunes Window:


Then go to the Summary page, and the Backup option will appear there.
