In-App purchases as its name implies are things you buy inside an App. They cost real money.
How they work, depends on the Apps. for some Apps you get access to more features. For things like games you may get in-game items such as gold or gems to acquire other in-game things. Some are consumable, in other words what you get, you use up and may need to be purchased again. Other things may be a one time purchase you get access to forever and don’t need to be bought again.
The point of it, is they cost real money, and will charge your payment method.
