In photos, what is the difference and uses of albums v folders?

Folders can be helpful in organizing. If you have multiple albums that are related in some way, you can place the albums in a folder. For example, if you went on a trip through Europe in 2019, you might group photos of individual countries in albums named for each country and then place all of those albums into a "Europe 2019" folder.

Folders can hold albums and subfolders. They can't hold photographs. You can have multiple subfolders, and multiple albums in any folder.

Albums can hold photographs.


You create your organisational structure with folders, (eg as FoxFifth has suggested) and then put albums in the appropriate folders to hold the images for that part of the structure.
