IMac Does Not Recognize iPhone 12 Pro Max

updated to iPhone 12 pro max and my iMax won't recognize iphone,. I’ve tried every fix listed and nothing works. I can't even select 12 pro max as my device. I have latest IOS in both phone & computer.
