Wifi stops for no reason.....

About 3 weeks ago, the wifi, internet connection to our iPad and iPhone drops unexpectedly and can't figure out why. Comes back at some point in the future but never really know when that might be. While the connection is lost on the mentioned devices, it still works fine on the iMac. Have a +/- 8 year old AirPort Extreme.
