Kernel Panics - How to fully uninstall Samsung Smart Switch?
I’ve posted about these b4. Copied Etrecheck reports b4.
Used to happen every few weeks & then it started every 3-4 days.
Etrecheck typically says:
“Kernel panics - This system has experienced kernel panics that could be related to 3rd party software”
And
“Heavy RAM usage - Apps are using a large amount of RAM”
I have updated the Canon printer/fax/scanner drivers. Still happens.
After the iMac restarted itself again, 7-4-21, I decided to uninstall Samsung Smart Switch app & install Android File Transfer App instead to move photos & files to & from my Samsung phone.
The Smart Switch uninstaller did not do anything so, I just dragged the app to the trash & then searched my Mac based on an article I read & trashed some other Samsung files I found.
I followed this:
http://www.macuninstallguides.com/remove-smart-switch-on-mac.html
Deleted 2 SS files in Cache
Trashed a plist
Trash list:
com.samsung.Smart-Switch-Update
com.samsung.SmartSwitch
com.samsung.SmartSwitch.plist
Those were the only Samsung Smart Switch files I was able to find.
I thought I had solved this annoying issue but, on 7-23-21, had another Kernel panic/restart. This time I was using my Mac when it happened. I was creating a Pages document using copy/paste from a website & also going into
When I ran Etrecheck,
At the bottom it listed 4 Samsung drivers & I think I need to trash those but, cannot find them.
3rd party kernel extensions:
com.devguru.driver.SamsungACMControl
com.devguru.driver.SamsungACMData
com.devguru.driver.SamsungComposite
com.devguru.driver.SamsungMTP
I will post that Etrecheck report in additional text box from 7-23-21.
Thanks!
