Problem with Canon MX475 PRINTER

I have recently upgraded to OS 11.15 Big Sur. My printer is a Canon MX 475 purchased approx. 2 years ago.

When I try to print, the printer initialises. When I click on the print button the printer ikon appears on the bar which then indicates a problem. I check the progress of the job which tells me the printer is offline which it is not.

When I connect the printer to my ageing iMac running OS 10.11.6 it works perfectly..

Advice please.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities.


First, delete all Canon software. Next, Reset the Mac printing system to solve a problem - Apple Support. Finally, Add a printer on Mac - Apple Support. When you are adding the printer again, set it up as an AirPrint printer.
