apple clicker pairing

I cannot seem to connect my apple clicker to my mac book pro for advancing ppt. I've changed the battery twice already.

connecting a presentation clicker I use Canva for presentations. I have several USB/USB-C presentation clickers that I used to be able to connect to my laptop, but no more. It's a MacBook Pro running OS 13.1. The dongles are connecting to the remotes, but the computer won't see them. All of the clicker setups want me to be able to access the old bluetooth keyboard assistant and I can't connect with the new system setup. Any thoughts? Thanks for the help.

Left click keeps bring up a dropdown menu. Why? I'm using Logic Pro X (10.6.3) on a Mac mini (2018) with Big Sur. When I used to left-click, eg. on a send or output to see its allocated aux channel that's all that would happen, ie. it would select only, NOW I get the dropdown menu of a right-click and it's driving me nuts! I can't seem to find out why or how to fix it. Anyone? PS this is with a Bluetooth Apple mouse or a 3rd party USB trackerball.

Are you using a Keynote Remote? If so, take a look at Use Keynote Remote to control your Keynote presentation to learn how to link it to your Mac.
