Charged too much for updated subscription?

I just upgraded from an individual Apple Music subscription to the family plan. It says only $5 more a month. I've already been charged for my individual plan this month, and when I upgraded it charged me $9. Why is that?

Because it charges you the complete cost of the family plan which is $14.99. It does not just charge the difference between the individual plan and the Family plan.


Your individual plan will automatically be cancelled, and a prorated refund issued to your account.
