Hi,

There is a similar model called ML-2161. You may want to have a look at the HP article https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06520117 and the ML-2161 model in the list. The installation information in fine shows a network connection.

The (Feb 11, 2021) Samsung Universal Print Driver V3.93.01 for SL-M2020 and some other models (https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/SS/Print_Common_SW/Samsung_Mac_Driver_V3.93.01.dmg) could perhaps be worth testing (with or without a network connection). Look upon this as a pure experiment. It may not work at all. Remember, there is always a certain risk involved with any experiment. Software conflicts cannot be ruled out. A hardware problem is unlikely, but it is impossible to guarantee anything. You may have to erase and reinstall everything on the computer. Data may be lost. Do not proceed unless you know what you are doing. In any case, make sure that you have (multiple) backup copies of important files before you start.

An ML-2165 (without a W suffix) would have a USB port only. If necessary, it may be possible to connect a small external print server to the USB port in order to allow the printer to connect to a network. There are USB print server models for Ethernet or Wi-Fi from a number of manufacturers.

Hello, im solved this problem on macOS 11 Big Sur :-)

I changed from Samsung ML-2160 Series to M2060 driver from universal driver (link below)

When you add in system preference new printer (+) you can click bellow "use" and select M2060

https://driverfresh.com/en/printers/samsung/3-universal-driver.html (you must download the latest driver for macOS 11 from this website)

BTW when im used Windows 10 and downloaded and install on it program from hp support website called "Samsung Easy Wireless Setuphttps://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/SS/SL-M3370FD/EWS_V3.70.18.0.exe

I was able connect printer by WiFi on macOS 11 Big Sur (still using M2060 driver) and now I can print via WiFi.

if you hold down the wifi button on the printer for 10 seconds, will start printing configuration page with all data like ip address and you can use this ip to connect without cable.

Please note that I mentioned a download from HP only.

At least the file in the second picture (14:56) is from an unknown source.

Generally speaking, be very careful when downloading from the Internet. There are many third-party sites, often with names similar to official printer manufacturer sites. You do not know what you get. Only download drivers from a printer manufacturer, from Apple, or from another absolutely trustworthy source.

That file is shown if you select macOS 11.0 on the official HP (Samsung) support page for the SL-M2020 model.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/samsung-xpress-sl-m2020-laser-printer-series/16462592

With this driver installed, the idea was to check whether it would work if you choose the M2020 instead of your model.

Do you have an ML-2165, or an ML-2165W?

Anyway, I would suggest that you remove everything unknown/unwanted from the computer to begin with. Again, do not install anything from unknown sources. It would probably be a good idea to reset the printing system as well.
