Magenta/Purple color smear on iPhone 12 Pro Max

When on Dark Mode, using iMessage, Mail, and even on Settings, when browsing up and down a Magenta/Purple color 'smear' on the screen.

This is very noticeable in a dark room, or any low lit rooms. Phone is 12 days fresh. Can anyone tell me if this is a 'Software issue' and can be solved by a major update?

I have heard of green/blue-ish and yellow-ish color on their iPhones particularly on all iPhone 12 models. I hope Apple Inc is aware of this and is on top of the issue.

Anyone is welcome for an advise or for a proper fix.

Hi there JLabX,

Thanks for joining us in Apple Support Communities! We understand you're seeing blurry, purple lines or smears on the display of your iPhone 12 when using Dark Mode. We're glad you're here, and we can provide some guidance.

"If you look at an OLED display off-angle, you might notice slight shifts in color and hue. At reduced display brightness levels against black backgrounds, you might notice a slight blur or color change while scrolling. These are characteristics of OLED and are normal behavior." Have a look at the 'OLED technology' section of this link to learn more:

About the Super Retina display and Super Retina XDR display on your iPhone

Keeping that information in mind, the behavior you're seeing on the display of your iPhone is normal.

We hope this provides some clarity. Don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any more questions.

Cheers.

Hi!

Thank you for your kind response. I've actually read a whole thread of responses here at apple community. I now understand that this is 'normal' but the question only arise when I have never experienced this with my iPhone 11 Pro and now with my iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Having said that, it wasn't really an issue at first but I just can't really stop comparing the 2 phones. I am hoping and base from what iPhone users are saying, an iOS update can fix that small issue, hopefully this iOS 15 update will do the trick!

Nevertheless, thank you for your response and advise and for welcoming me to the community!

best,

JL
