If you see a 'Face ID disabled' message, this document deals with that specific issue:

"If an alert says Face ID has been disabled on your iPhone or iPad Pro", click here --> https://support.apple.com/HT208186

If you just have issues with Face ID not working properly but not saying "disabled", read this document:

'If Face ID isn't working on your iPhone or iPad Pro', click here --> https://support.apple.com/HT208114

thank you Limnos for your reply ,

However , i did not receive an error message regarding the in depth camera . i did follow all the instructions on the link before asking the question; i did reset the face id as well as set up an alternate appearance , twice.

The weird thing is that after i reset the face id it did work a few times , in the instances where i pressed the right side button to shut off the screen.. once the screen shut itself off the face id stopped working again ...

Face id glitch...
