I am unable to burn songs to discs even if I have purchased them from iTunes because, I think, Apple Music thinks I'm trying to burn from them. Seems like the program should be able to tell when a song is or isn't owned by the user. Either way, please help me to better understand this problem and teach me to be able to burn cd's without the hassle. Thanks!
Make sure the copy of the song in the playlist you're burning is the Purchased version, not the Apple Music version.

If you don't see the Kind column, View > Show View Options and enable it. (Kind will be listed in the File category.)
I’m sorry but I need more specific instructions. I don’t see a kind column where I can determine whether it’s one version or another. Unnecessarily unintuitive. Do people still burn discs? This is painful. May ditch Apple Music altogether

View > As Songs. Enable the "Kind" column and make sure the Kind says Purchased.
