This is a question pertaining to my moms and brothers iPhones. Whenever my mom texts my brother, it always sends it through a group text with him and my grandpa. Only. She can’t ever send singular texts to him.

same with my brothers phone, he can’t text my mom singular messages either, it always defaults to a group text with her and grandpa. He can no longer call her, since it tries to call her and grandpa at once.

we can’t for the life of us figure out what’s wrong and why their phones are doing this.

Hi there and thank you for contacting apple support communities, Since it sends these texts to more that one person, it means that you are texting within a group text that someone has previously added your number to. In order to text the person individually, I would follow the following steps: open the phone app, select contacts at the bottom, use the search bar at the top to find their name, open their contact, select message right under their name. If you follow these steps, you will only be texting the person that you searched and not the group text. I really hope that the information that I provided you with today can help you.

Are you sure that she is selecting only one person when creating a message. iMessage likes to be helpful ... maybe too much ... and she may be selecting multiple people.

Try sending ga message just to the 10-digit phone number and see what happens.
