I have been trying to activate my phone number on iMessage for a while now , but it will not verify ,I don't want to use my email.
If it was then we would all have the same problem.

The standard method is
Settings, Messages, Turn off iMessage
Settings Face time, Turn off Face Time
Restart the phone
Settings, Messages, Turn on iMessage
Settings Face time, Turn on Face Time
Didn't work.
Discuss it with your SIM provider
Didn’t work for me either. Rogers says it’s an apple problem
It didn't work for me either just stuck on verifying.
I am having the same issue on my iPad mini. This is not a service provider issue. This is an Apple software issue.
Then click on the Get Support link at the top right of this page and contact Apple technicians.
