Unable to add my hotmail account to my iphone

I have an iPhone 6 Plus. Up to last night I had my hotmail and google accounts working correctly. I tried converting a pdf to a word document and had to log into my outlook account. I’d forgotten password so reset it. On trying to access my hotmail emails I was prompted to put new password in. When I did nothing happened. I went to settings and tried to type in password but it just ‘flashes’ and goes back to screen.the rest of the details are greyed out. I deleted account and when I try to re install it it says unable to verify account info and I can’t get any further.

my account is ok on my iPad and I can access through the browser. Any ideas please?

Thanks for that info and for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If we understand correctly, you are unable to use your Hotmail account on your iPhone, but you don't have an issue on your iPad or accessing the account from a browser. Based on your description, this could be a situation that you may need to create an app-specific password for your Hotmail account and use that when adding the account to your iPhone again, and here is more info on this process:
