I cannot get my watch to wake on wrist movement. I’ve checked the settings and rebooted it with no luck.

Anyway, make sure Theatre Mode (icon with 2 masks) is OFF in Control Centre.
Control Centre: Swipe up from the bottom of your screen and tap Theatre Mode to switch it Off.
