Automatic sim sending an unknown text message

Forgive the copying. The previous thread was shut down.

Screen shot is attached. Some of us are getting a text message on a black screen several times a day.

It lasts for a few seconds then goes away. Shows up in different apps & home screen.

Mine's a 6s with TFW sim. Been happening for at least a year.

Has any solution been found yet?

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! It looks like your SIM card is attempting to contact your cellular provider, so it's sending an SMS text message. We're happy to help.

The SIM card is obtained and programmed by your cellular provider. Here are some steps which can help alleviate this from happening:

Restart your iPhone
Check for any carrier updates: Manually update your carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad
Remove and reinsert your SIM card: Remove or switch the SIM card in your iPhone or iPad
Reset your Network Settings. Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you’ve used before. Make sure you've got any Wi-Fi passwords and other settings saved.
Contact your cellular provider: Wireless carrier support and features for iPhone in the United States and Canada - Select your location, if different.
