This sounds to me like hardware is the most likely source of the problem. Pushing the power button and turning on the power to the Mac is the most basic of hardware functions. An Apple Authorized Service Provider has additional tools they can use to track down the cause. I think you need to take your Mac in for service.

I don't understand the "30 min to turn on." What is it doing during the 30 minutes? The sleep wake failure in EFI comes when waking a Mac that was sleeping, versus "turn on."

The first thing to try for this is to reset the SMC. The procedure is different for different Mac models, see this article https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295 I think yours is an Intel Mac. BE sure to follow the procedure carefully and hold the keys down for the full number of seconds indicated in the article.

This almost certainly sounds like hardware.

You are using a startup key combination I have not heard of before. Why are you using that combination?

Be sure to hold the power button down for several seconds, some Macs do not come on unless the button is held for a few seconds.

I have a slightly different issue. My iMac shuts down regularly and often restarts automatically, or in some cases I need to press the Power button to restart manually. In both cases, I receive the same Sleep Wake Failure error message - which I Report. Why is this happening? Any ideas to check settings so I can eliminate? BTW, I've had this issue for well over a year, through multiple OS upgrades.

Thanks in advance for any assistance/advice.
