hacked router

I and running high Sierra on a 2010 Mackbook. I have Netgear r6200v2 router. I cannot access my route with 192.168.1.1 I get a pop up than tells me to use 192.168.1.1:80 use my name and password anI will receive an un encrypted password. I have factory reset the router and tried reseting it using Netgear Genie ,but no luck. I do not fell good sending my password and Netgear support is no help as they want a fee to do anything. I can use the router with ethernet., but not WIFI. I even tried accessing with another computer ,but no luck. Get the same message. Anyone run into this before. It started with me contacting Lexmark support about my printer not working. I let them get on my computer, where they said the problem was my router was hacked nd they wanted to charge me to fix it. Any ideas.

MacBook, macOS 10.13
