Use an External Keyboard:

Sometimes changes are made to the system and then settings (i.e. for WiFi) become manipulated, technically.  So, reset both the SMC and NVRAM on your Mac. As for connecting it, you may need this adapter, if the keyboard has not USB-C plug in it USB-C to USB Adapter - Apple

Try to check your keyboard with Apple Diagnostics if it reports keyboard related error(NDK001, NDK003, NDK004).

If it doesn't help, contact Apple Support or make Genius Bar reservation if your local retail Apple Store is open or find local opened Apple Authorized Service Provider to be examined your MacBook Air.
