Does anyone know if the new iMac can be used as a monitor connected to a macbook air?

Does anyone know if the new 24-inch iMac can be used as a monitor connected to a MacBook Air? If so, in order to connect them, can I use the Thunderbolt USC-C apple cable?

Not yet, but AirPlay-To-Mac support is a new feature that will be arriving this Fall with MacOS Monterey.
