Touch ID, iPhone Unlock.

Is there a way to have Touch ID to not activate until I press the home button. Kind of like a iPhone with Face ID where you have to swipe up to activate Face ID. I currently have raise to wake on to Look at the time easily, And I'm paranoid that the Touch ID Sensor would break if it keeps sensing nothing when I check the time.
