Hello harshill93.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're experiencing issues with a specific iMessage conversation. Specifically, you want to know if it's possible to convert a conversation that is in SMS to iMessage. Allow us to share some information with you.

In order to use iMessage, both devices must be an iOS or macOS device. If one of the devices isn't an iPhone or Mac, your conversation will be in SMS. Currently, it isn't possible to convert an entire SMS conversation to iMessage. If the person you're communicating with is using an iOS device, you can make sure iMessage is enabled and also turn off "Send as SMS" in your Messages settings by going to Settings > Messages > Send as SMS > Off. This feature will send your iMessages as a text message whenever iMessage isn't available.

New upcoming messages should be in iMessage if you have iMessage enabled and "Send as SMS" off. We do have a couple of helpful resources below:

About iMessage and SMS/MMS - Apple Support

Use iMessage apps on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

If you can’t turn on or sign in to iMessage or FaceTime - Apple Support

We hope this information is useful. Cheers.
