Mac Studio will not sync up my raid (with thunderbolt 2). My Raid by G Technology is a 32TB with a thunderbolt 2 connection. I have an Apple connector TB2 female to a USBC male to connect it to my Mac Studio. The Raid is powered up when the Studio is turned on and the raid shuts down when the raid is powered off but I can't access any of the Raid Data.

Is there any advantage to using Thunderbolt with an HDD RAID 0 drive? For video editing, I have an older Thunderbolt 2 HDD RAID set up which was hooked into my iMac. Now I have a Mac mini. My question is, with port speeds so high, even USB 3 is 600mb/sec, is there any advantage using an HDD RAID 0 set up through a faster port when the HDD RAID is limited to about 180mb/sec, which is clearly much lower than even the USB 3 port, never mind the much faster Thunderbolt ports? I am moving to SSD for far better read performance, but also wanted to know about how to use this RAID disk now (which might include selling it!!)

Where does the OSX RAID utility store the RAID configuration? If I have 5 HDDS. A single BOOT drive which is used to create the RAID with OSX RAID utility. I create using the 4 other drives, 2 mirror sets each of 2 drives and then stripe the 2 mirror sets. Linked questions: Where does OSX RAID utility store the RAID configuration? If the BOOT drive fails is the RAID configuration lost? Can you export and backup the RAID configuration?

Check the documentation for the drive which you should have received with the purchase of the drive or you may be able to find the documentation on the manufacturer's support website:

Some storage drives require the use of a proprietary app while others just use a web interface to configure and manage the drive.
