AKA: websites won't load properly in Safari. Updates, restarting, quitting/force quitting and reloading safari again and again doesn't help. Chrome works fine. Aside from switching to Chrome permanently or anything I've done already--what do you recommend?

Hi John9Galt,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities! We're glad you've reached out for help with this issue you're experiencing in Safari. Let's get to the bottom of it together.

To start, please let us know more about this behavior you're seeing. It sounds like this is affecting every website. Is this correct? Which version of macOS are you using? This can be found under Apple menu () > About this Mac.

Have you had an opportunity to restart your Mac since noticing this issue? If not, please do so now. A standard restart is best, so here's a guide with the steps as a reference:

Log out, sleep, wake, restart, or shut down your Mac - Apple Support

If you find that the issue persists, let us know if the troubleshooting tips in this guide help, or if you've got any questions:

If Safari on Mac doesn't open a webpage or isn’t working as expected - Apple Support

Have a great day!
