What iPad OS version comes out of the box? (iPad 8)

I am curious to know what OS version comes on a new iPad, for instance on the iPad 8, it’s it already updated to the latest version out of the box? Since the iPad 8 is from 2019 I would find it odd if it came with iOS 13, but I also don’t think it will have the latest update, I’m curious about whether new iPads on the store get software updates somehow.

The iPad 8 was released in September 2020 and originally shipped with iPadOS 14.0.

Current models may have a later version of iPadOS 14 depending on what was current at the time they were manufactured .
