I can’t see all my photos on my old Mac from my iPhone or iPad. I have confirmed all using the same Apple ID and I logged on to all with same password. On the flip side, the pics on my iPad and phone are NOT on my MAC

I can’t see all my photos on my old Mac from my iPhone or iPad. I have confirmed all using the same Apple ID and I logged on to all with same password. On the flip side, the pics on my iPad and phone are NOT on my MAC. I am scared to death of losing the pics on my Mac as it’s years and years of my kids. How do I get the two “libraries” merged into my Apple account?

Before you do anything, make sure that you have backups of your iPhone (https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/back-up-iphone-iph3ecf67d29/ios) and of your Mac (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201250), just in case.

Your iPhone and iPad seem to already have iCloud photos enabled. So, turn it on on the Mac.

Go to Photos > Preferences > iCloud

Enable iCloud photos. You may also want to ensure originals are downloaded to the Mac

If those options are not available, change to the preferences tab and ensure that "use as system photo library" is turned on.

But again, make sure that you back things up first. It's good practice too.
