Apple Play Randomly Disconnects from my 2018 Nissan Altima

What steps can I take to address the issue of the random disconnection of Apple Car Play? This just started over the last couple of weeks and is frustrating. I have replaced the cables.

We understand that your iPhone is disconnected from CarPlay, and you have already tried using different cables.


First, we'll want to make sure that you're not using an aftermarket stereo. If you're not, then make sure your vehicle is listed here.

In that guide, it shows that the 2019-2021 Altima is supported, and that your particular vehicle is not.


So instead, it sounds like you're using USB playback. So you'll want to follow the steps that are listed under the section "Connect using USB playback" in this guide: How to connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your car


If the issue continues, contact Apple Support: Get Support

CarPlay support is subject to change. This is notated near the bottom of this article: CarPlay: More than 600 models to choose from

"* CarPlay support is either standard or available as an option on many new 2016 cars and later, with some manufacturers offering software updates for earlier models. Some models may support CarPlay or car keys only in certain configurations, and not all models are available in all areas. CarPlay support is subject to change. See your dealer for details."


Having said that, have you checked to see if there are any firmware or software updates for your car's stereo? Installing those may resolve the issue as well.
