Norton cleared all old files, I now have a app on my app bar at the bottom of the computer. it says it a Bash 80-24 shell. I've never had it before. can I get rid of it or do I need to leave it be?

I now have a app indication on the bottom line of the computer that is bash 80-24. never had it before. how do I get rid of it. should I or just let it be.

iMac 21.5″, macOS 11.5

Drag the "app" up off the Dock until "Remove" appears, then release it.


I will also suggest you uninstall Norton.

There is no need to run any anti-virus, “cleaning”, “speed-up” or “optimizing” apps. In fact, most anti-virus and cleaning apps are less than helpful on the Mac and often cause more problems and headache than they prevent because they conflict with the Mac’s built in securities.
