How to restore selected apps after factory reset?

A former Big Tech employer added some “things” to my iPhone in order to make it secure for our highly-secretive communications. Years later, remnants of that technology had remained on my phone. I did a factory reset and then restored from my recent iCloud backup, but those remnants reappeared. So, obviously, to completely eliminate past junk, I cannot do a complete restore process. I’ve now done another factory reset and am manually adding back my apps. But, my historical content is on iCloud only. I want Apple to give me back my content from their iCloud servers.

HOW can I restore only selected apps from my iCloud backup? If Apple denies this functionality to its customers, then perhaps there is a trustworthy third-party app that you can recommend to me?

Thanks for your help, community.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, but this answer is not helpful. I already suspected that this is the situation, but am writing to find a real solution.

Surely, because the content is with Apple and I’m using this Apple device, there must be a way to get the content to the device. I hope that someone will post a solution, perhaps one requiring a third-party app.

Thank again, anyway.
