Mail sounds in Big Sur
None of the sounds work in Mail app. since upgrading to Big Sur. no incoming sound no whoosh either.

Three Things:
A. Try Reseting the Core Audio:
Type the following command in Terminal:
sudo killall coreaudiod
B. Boot in Safe Mode:
[Hold Down: the shift key upon boot]. In Safe Mode, Login Items do no open at login, random system preferences are put to the side, and damages system files (i.e. caches) are often fixed. So, boot into Safe Mode, seeing if you still get this error. Then, restart, login in manually.
C. Reinstall the macOS:
Nothing would be deleted. It's just that items that have become corrupted or deleted, would be replaced or reinstalled back to where they should be. Go Here: How to reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery - Apple Support. Important: Be certain to create a backup of your Mac prior to all of this. That way, you can have something to restore from the Mac from, should anything go wrong with the reinstall. Once reinstalled, try this once more.
