iCloud backup stopped backing up automatically. Why??!

Apple are using third party servers (we only know this because of a law suit) to backup, I would say there has been an outage, a glitch or a zero day venerability. Either way there is no accountability, no email warning if it stops, even the iCloud website says Good Afternoon when it is clearly morning and your paying them for backup with no third party option.

My backup stopped on the 15th Aug and I have just lost 14days of data.
