Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and depending on which MacBook Pro model you have, click on Mojave, Catalina, or Big Sur. It needs to be at least a 2012 or newer one to be capable of a higher OS.
They're full-version upgrades and won't appear in the Updates list.

Hi.
I have this problem too. When I attempt to download 10.14 manually it opens the app store, but the app store says "This copy of the Install macos Mojave application is damaged, and can't be used to install macos." How can I get around this? Thank you
Choose Applications from the Finder's Go menu, throw the existing installer away, and download another copy.
