Slow macbook pro m1 2020 when using excel

Is it normal that when using excel together with chrome, mail, Spotify and other apps, the mac will slow down?

I have 8GB RAM installed.

I checked activity monitor and can see that with just these apps opened, the RAM used is 5GB out of 8GB. But the memory pressure is green.

macOS - Compatibility - Apple

The current Office for Mac; Office 365 or Office 2019 (One-time purchase) are OK with Catalina/Big Sur

Big Sur compatibility—Microsoft recently announced that it was officially ending support for Office 2016 for Mac on October 13, 2020. Apple Silicon compatibility in Office 2016 is questionable. Office 2019 no issues.
