hotspot and sidecar together

Hi all,

I have a third gen iPad Air and a brand new MacBook Air M1.

I know that using the iPad as hotspot for my MacBook and also as wireless sidecar is not an option as wifi is cannot be occupied for both. But it should be able to use both, sidecar and hotspots, if I connect them via usb. Nonetheless I don't seem to manage it.

Any help guys?

Hi there tardegardo,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you want to use your iPad as a wireless hotspot and use Sidecar at the same time. To use Sidecar wirelessly your iPad cannot be sharing its cellular connection. Learn more here: Use your iPad as a second display for your Mac with Sidecar.

Learn more about using hotspot here: Share your internet connection from iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular).

We hope this helps!
