Can older MacBook Pro's update to the latest system?

My MacBrook Pro is I believe a 2015 (maybe 2017) and it hasn't updated to the latest version in a while. Some of my work stuff wont work properly anymore because I don't have the latest update. Is it "too old" for updates anymore? If not, how can I update it?

I know where to go for updates and nothing pops up. It tells me I don't have any updates available.
