On my android I had a app called Mighty Text, it was great for business bc I could check and reply to text messages easily. I cant seem to do that with an iphone using a windows laptop ... are there any 3rd party apps out there to do this?

SMS uses the cellular network.
Apple has no control over SMS.
Contact your cellular carrier to see if they provide a way to use the web or an app to do so.
iOS and MacOS have a feature called continuity that lets your messages (both SMS texts and iMessages) sync between an iPhone, iPad or Mac using the same iCloud account. And it allows both a Mac and an iPad to send and receive SMS using the iPhone’s cellular voice connection. But there is nothing from Apple to do anything similar with Windows.
Windows 10 has the Your Phone App, but really only works with Android (or Windows phones if you have an old one). The MS Your Phone App offers almost no support for iPhones.
