I have an Apple Watch that I need to unpair for my grandfathers phone because he’s giving it to me and every time it asks for his password I type his password in and it says that verification failed incorrect Apple ID or password what do I do about that because I’m typing in the password he used to set up his Apple ID
No I’m putting the one he set up with his Apple ID and it’s saying the same thing to me when I go to try to update an app and I just set up a new Apple ID not even a month ago and I know I’m typing in the right passwords for both of them

If you can't remember/gain access to the apple id that paired the watch to the phone.Take the watch and it's receipt along with some photo id and any other proof of ownership to an Apple Store and request that they remove the Activation Lock for you.
