Cellular Watch

Hi this may be a dumb question but I’m wondering with the cellular watch do you have to be on a phone plan or can you put a pre paid SIM card in it? Thanks for your help

Usually you add the watch’s data plan to an existing iPhone plan. You can’t add a SIM, the cellular watch has an eSIM.

The Cellular + GPS Apple Watch shares the iPhone's phone number, and the carriers that support the Apple Watch charge a monthly fee. In the U.S. the fee is $10 per month. Here is a list of carriers that support the Apple Watch:

sorry I’m confused I currently have an iPhone iv purchased outright with a pre paid sim will I be able to use the cellular I watch with my pre paid sim
