setup error

i am trying to setup software on my mac but it keeps showing me this messageYou can’t open the application “Setup.exe” because Microsoft Windows applications are not supported on macOS. while I have already have Microsoft office for Mac

Files that end in .exe are Windows executables and cannot run on a Mac.


The Microsoft Office you have is one written specifically for Mac and as such is not an .exe type of file.


You will need to look for a Mac version of whatever you are trying to install, or an alternative App.


Or install Windows on your Mac if you really need to run Windows software.

For apps downloaded from the internet: In the Downloads folder, double-click the disk image (.dmg) or package file (.pkg) If the provided installer doesn’t open automatically, open it, then follow the onscreen instructions.

To activate a Microsoft Office 365 subscription you simply enter the email address you used when you extended the subscription with Microsoft.



The current Office for Mac; Office 365 or Office 2019 (One-time purchase) are OK with Catalina/Big Sur
